From Great Lakes Wiki
A picture of me from October 2006 on my front porch.
Who: Sarah Crespi, student in the master's program at the Knight Center for Environmental Journalism at MSU.
Where: I live on the 3rd coast now but have inhabited left and
right coasts at times.
What: My work on Great Lakes Wiki is focused on the Rouge River as an area of concern. I also wrote on environmental issues in the Lake Champlain Basin. (I know it's a pretender to the title of Great Lake but it has a lake monster which no one has claimed about its bigger cousins.) Right now, I'm trying to embed a YouTube video into the Rouge River Present page and also learn enough about creating tables to write the help page on it.
When: I think I will work on this project forever. I spend a lot
of time on the web and it gives me great pleasure to change a
tiny piece every day.
Why: I took this class because of two alluring features: citizen journalism and wiki techniology. I'm a big wikipedia fan and I like the idea of arming people with cellphone cameras and sending them out to get the news.
