CITIZENShift is a National Film Board of Canada web initiative that platforms online media for social change. The site recently launched a dossier on water issues where you can find relevant photography, films, articles and podcasts that explore H20 around the world, including the Great Lakes.

The Water Walkersis a vignette featured on CITIZENShift that profiles Anishinabe women from Thunder Bay, Ontario walking the perimeters of the Great Lakes as a form of protest against water privatization. Walking an average of 40 miles a day, the women pick up supporters and meet with concerned people and activists as they go. Their message is simple: They want future generations to have clean water to drink. The Water Walkers will walk around Lake Erie in the summer of 2007.
