The Michigan Student Sustainability Coalition 2007 Summit is a weekend long convergence to support organizations and individuals committed to the development of renewable energy infrastructure and stopping the development of destructive fossil fuel technology . The Summit will encourage student political action to establish a Renewable Energy Portfolio Standard in Michigan and the implementation of sustainable energy and transportation policies on Michigan University and college campuses. Saturday the will feature over 25 workshops for students, youth, activists, energy professionals, professors, U.A.W. workers and the Michigan community in the areas of: Sustainable Business, Clean Energy Technology, Campus and Community Organizing, Corporate Campaigning, solidarity work between environmental and labor activists, Global Exchange's Freedom from Oil and Transportation Campaigns, and Media. Sunday will feature applied sustainability service projects throughout the Lansing and East Lansing Community. Service projects are in partner ship with Habitat for Humanity, In to the Streets, Allen Neighborhood Center , MSU Student Organic Farm and the MSU Student Co-op Housing. Student and Youth activists from across Michigan will attend. Schools to be represented at summit: Michigan State University, University of Michigan, Eastern Michigan University, Western Michigan University, Grand Valley State University, Oakland University, Alma College, Troy High School, Albion College, Olivet College, Central Michigan University, University of Michigan – Flint, Wayne State University, East Lansing High School, Baker College, Aquinas College, Northern Michigan University, Lansing Community College Speakers and trainers for the summit include:
