It still brings in popular Canadian and American folk singers. Well knowns such as Gordon Lightfoot, Ian and Sylvia, Joni Mitchell, and James Taylor are a few who have passed through. Held in the hometown town of Gordon Lightfoot, Orillia, the name Mariposa comes from the fictional town in the book Sunshine sketches of a Little Town by Stephan Leacock.
