The Coho's length range is 11 to 26 inches. The weight range is 2 to 8 inches. The weight differs between lakes because some of the fish it feeds on are not abundant (as they are in other lakes). When the fish reaches adulthood it feasts on smelt, alewives, and other fish it can find. Some are worried that it could kill some of the other most valuable fish (The brown trout, rainbow trout, and brook trout. The Coho’s were planted in the great lakes in 1966. It has evened out the ratio between hunters and hunted in the great lakes. It has also become a great fish for recreational fishers.
