Blue Water BridgeFrom Great Lakes WikiBackgroundThe Blue Water Bridge is a twin-span bridge that crosses the St. Clair River and connects the communities of Port Edward/Sarnia, Ontario and Port Huron, Michigan. The original span, opened in 1938, is a cantilever truss bridge and the second span, opened in 1997, is a continuous tied arch bridge. SizeBoth spans are about 6,100 feet across. The eastbound bridge is 51 feet wide and 233 feet high, while the westbound bridge is 38 feet wide and 210 feet across.
