Amherst IslandAmherst Island is located in Lake Ontario. It is part of an archipelago including Nut Island, Grape Island and the Brother Islands. The shoreline is pebble and sandy beaches with some limestone cliffs. There is a regular ferry coming from the mainland town of Millhaven to the island. The population more than doubles in the summer months.
